Request an estimate

An independent number, before you commit the budget.

Order of cost estimates, cost plans and independent reviews, for business cases, funding submissions and budget bids. Built up from first principles and reviewed in house by a registered engineer, so the number holds up when it is questioned.

Estimate categories and accuracy ranges follow the Transport and Main Roads Project Cost Estimating Manual, 9th edition, which is the framework Queensland agencies and councils work to. We state the category and the basis of estimate on the face of every estimate, rather than presenting one number as if it were certain.

What we deliver

Three deliverables, matched to the decision in front of you. All fixed fee, confirmed at the scope check before you commit.

  • Order of cost estimateFor strategic assessment and early options. Priced from concept drawings or a written scope, quantities taken off by us, with the basis stated and the exclusions listed on the face of it. Use it to size the problem before you commit to a delivery route.
    from $2,950
  • Cost plan and programmeFor a business case, a funding submission or a budget bid. Cost broken down to the element level with the programme that sets it, so the cash flow in your submission follows the works rather than being spread evenly across the years.
    from $4,500
  • Independent cost reviewA health check on an estimate you already hold, or on a tender you have received. We rebuild the critical items from first principles and tell you where the price sits against the market, which lines carry the risk, and what we would question before you sign.
    from $1,950

Indicative. The fee is set by the size of the scope and the state of the information you hold, and confirmed at the scope check.

We do not price both sides of a project.

If we prepare your budget or business case estimate, we exclude ourselves from pricing that project for any contractor tendering it.

The exclusion is written into your engagement, so the independence of your number is a term of the contract rather than a matter of trust.

What lands in your inbox

Enough to defend the number in a room where someone is paid to question it.

The build-up, not just the total

Every line priced to plant, labour, materials and production rates, with the quantity and its source shown, so a reviewer can follow any number back to the drawing it came from.

A basis of estimate

The drawings and revisions priced, the specifications relied on, the rates date, and what has been assumed where the information ran out.

Assumptions and exclusions, in their own schedule

Set out separately rather than buried in notes, because the exclusions are what move the number later.

The programme behind the cost

Durations built from production rates, so time-related costs are calculated rather than allowed for, and your cash flow follows the works.

The reviewing engineer, named

RPEQ and CPEng are held in house. The estimate carries the name and registration of the person who reviewed it, which is what a budget submission needs.

A view on the risk

Which lines are soft, what would move them, and where we would hold contingency rather than spreading a flat percentage across the lot.

Send us the scope and we will tell you what it costs to price it

Concept drawings, a scope description, or the estimate you want checked. A fixed fee comes back within one business day.
